My pen drive is prompting format error. Should I format the pen drive at first or recover data at first using Yodot software?

Most of the users assume that they should format pen drive and then use recovery software to regain files from it. But it is not recommended to format pen drive that is showing format error as it sometimes reduces the chances of recovery.
