Why I am not able to open recovered file?

This type of problem occurs due to two reasons. First one is, in case the file is damaged by another file, virus attack, overwriting etc. It mainly happens for Microsoft Office files, archive files (RAR and ZIP) and sometimes video files.

Sometimes fragmentation is main reason behind recovered files that do not open. Some large files are saved in discrete locations because they cannot secure contiguous hard drive space.
