Why should I select a healthy file to repair a corrupted MOV file?

The software works on read only mode so it doesn’t modify the contents of the original corrupted file. Every MOV file type is different, the software reads the file structure from the healthy reference file and creates a new file.

Now, the data from the corrupted file is copied to the new file with the reference taken from the healthy file. The software repairs the corrupted MOV or MP4 files based on the selected healthy file. This is the reason we strongly advise our customers to only select a healthy file shot by the same device which was used to shoot the corrupted file.
