How to Retrieve Data from Unallocated Hard Drive?

“I use to have 500GB hard drive on my computer and it is having only two partition/volumes C and D of 250 GB each. In volume D I saved all my personal data like photos, music, videos etc and I thought of dividing this partition into two drives, so that I can save other data in second volume. I divided volume D into two drives by shrinking the volume D, but the newly created drive does not appear on “My Computer” window. When I check in “Disk Management” the new volume is created and it’s showing as unallocated space. Even I can’t see my data on the D volume which was partitioned. I had stored all my personal data in this volume itself and I don’t have any data backups!! Is there a way to recover my data from this volume, if it is then anyone please help me to come out of this issue???”

It is normal to computer users to shrink or expand the existing partitions on hard disk based on their requirements. Sometimes after completion of partitioning operation, due to some unknown reasons one partition on hard drive or the entire hard drive file system might get corrupted. As a result of this, hard drive partitions will be shown as RAW or unallocated drive and the entire data will be lost.

File system is responsible for the maintenance of all the files/folders present in hard drive partitions. A partition without file system is known as unallocated drive/unallocated partition and if you need to recover your data from this volume, then you need to format the unallocated drive first. After formatting the unallocated drive, you can retrieve data by using some reliable drive recovery software.
